It just doesn’t make sense
Push button – get packages at your door. Push button – get a plane ticket to Bali. Push button – get food delivered day or night. Technology has powered extraordinary transformation across industry, but recruiting hasn’t changed in decades.
80 hours
That’s how long it can take to go from “we need to hire someone” to a qualified shortlist of candidates. In a world where it takes 80 seconds for ChatGPT to explain linear algebra to a 10-year-old, how it can take 80 hours to source a shortlist of candidates should leave you scratching your head. And let’s assume that someone on the shortlist actually is the right person.
Talent is everything
Our team is our greatest asset… said everyone, everywhere, all the time. So why do we outsource hiring? We shouldn’t. At welovehumans, we believe the future of recruiting lies in empowering hiring managers to build their own teams. We’re giving hiring managers technology, training, and AI superpowers to recruit their way, without distracting from core job responsibilities.
The team
❤️ No matter who we are, we respect and embrace others. We are anti-ego. We value diversity of thought, experience, background and skill.
⏩ We are a team that acts with pace and care, and believe that winning teams are built by clever, considerate, and curious people working toward a shared vision.
📈 We strive to create a work environment that is urgent, candid and compassionate so that our team can execute to a magnificent standard. We believe that autonomy, accountability, and joy are the foundations of such an environment, and seek to work with others who can contribute to this ethos.
🏋️ As founders we will never ask someone in our team to do something we wouldn’t be prepared to do. We like putting in the hard yards… and expect anyone we bring on board to do the same.
✅ We find it hard to work with people who say things different to what they mean. We feel that toxic positivity and artificial harmony erode trust and kill businesses, so we prefer high-stakes conversations undertaken in a respectful manner. We appreciate that meaningful, productive relationships may need some friction to test boundaries and experience unconditional respect.
The role
You will build our front end experience. Success means you are…
The fine print
ABOUT you
❤️ Heart
You love building. The risk-reward designed into startups gets you excited. The idea that the upper limits of what is possible are unknown is a source of motivation. These words – curious, compassionate, resilient, effective – speak to you. They excite you, and you find the idea of working with 7 people of similar quality even more exciting.
****🤲🏽 Hands
You live and breathe coding. You have significantly contributed to bringing at least one product to market. B2B? Even better. B2B SaaS? Better, still. You have built from 0-1, which means something different to everyone. To us, it means that you’ve created something from nothing. It means that the reason for success (or failure, which is also a form of success) is because of the code you wrote, or didn’t write. You’ve experienced the autonomy and accountability that comes with failing forward, and you want more of it.
🤯 Head
You are driven by a multifaceted mindset. You possess the ability to navigate seamlessly between front end design and back end scale. You thrive in environments where you can make a tangible impact and see the direct results of your work. The fast-paced nature of startups provides you with ample opportunities to take on varied challenges and contribute to the company’s growth from the ground up. Additionally, you are motivated by the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies and innovative projects, constantly expanding your skill set and staying ahead of industry trends.
APPLICATION process
If you’ve made it this far, you’re probably in the right place 🙂
We don’t have a preset application or interview process. We appreciate that this will be off-putting for some candidates, but we feel it is important to adapt our process to meet candidate needs. Different candidates will bring different experiences to the table, and so we intend to meet candidates where they are.
We intend to move quickly when we find the right person, with a target start date in March or April. We’ll move more slowly for the right person if we have to.
